North Central Michigan College is offering a CNC (Computer Numerical Controls) information session next week.  The sessions will be in the Technology Building, Room 230 on the Petoskey campus.

Industry jobs offer exciting, fast-paced careers with room for advancement. Today, careers in manufacturing require creativity, precision, logistics and problem-solving. North Central and its industry partners have developed the courses you need in in Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine operation and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programming software. With these skills as your foundation, you can learn to make anything and go anywhere.

The session will be on:

Wednesday, May 17

6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Reservations are appreciated but not required. Call 231-439-6265 or email

Congratulations Petoskey Robotics Team!

The Petoskey Robotics team just returned from Grand Rapids for the Michigan State Championships. Not only did they rank 41st in the state, they also won the Regional Chairman's Award (only 4 teams in the state are awarded this honor!).

The team is headed to St. Louis once again to compete in the World Championships and to present their Chairman's Application for the national Chairman's Award!

The Team Coach, Mr. Ochs, also won a highly prestigious Action Award, for a coach who helps spread the word and support other local teams.

Mr. Ochs with his Action Award and some of the team - oh, and the Governor too!
